Sofia has the highest average wage in the country - 1,500 euro

The average salary in Bulgaria in the fourth quarter of last year was BGN 2,123 (EUR 1,085), an increase of 13% compared to the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. The average wage is highest in Sofia - BGN 2,900 (EUR 1,483), which is more than 36% higher than the national average. The region with the lowest average wage is Vidin - BGN 1,397 (EUR 714.27), which is about 65.8% of the national average.
7% of employees are self-employed, 88.2% are employees.
