The best sausage makers and winemakers will compete in the village of Tsalapitsa this weekend. On 30 March, the Tsalapitsa Babek and Wine Festival will take place on an open stage in the park of the Rhodope village. The most famous Tsalapitsa appetizer, which is prepared at the beginning of winter according to an old recipe, is now ripe, sufficiently dry and ready for consumption. And what better combination with the tasty sausage than a glass of aromatic local wine!

The idea of the culinary festival is to preserve the old Bulgarian traditions by presenting the typical taste of the region. There will be a competition for the best barbecue and the best wine. There will also be folk music, songs and dances featuring individual performers, groups and ensembles from all over the country who will present Bulgarian folklore.

The organisers of this tasty and boozy event are the Tsalapitsa community centre and the town hall under the patronage of the Mayor of the Municipality of Rhodopi.
