After 4 years of investigation, the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office has submitted to court the indictment against former gambling mogul Vassil Bozhkov, and another 9 persons, including officials from the now dissolved State Commission on Gambling, who stand accused of being involved in a criminal organization created for extortion, malfeasance and corruption. The charge against Bozhkov is of organizing and leading the organization.
The investigation against Bozhkov was launched at the end of 2019, and at the beginning of 2020 it became clear he had left the country.
