Bulgaria took part in the traditional May 1 Parade of vintage cars in Presidencia Roque Saenz Peña, Chaco province, in distant Argentina, when the anniversary of the establishment of the settlement is celebrated. Bulgaria was represented by the local Bulgarian cultural society "Hristo Botev".

It was created 71 years ago and unites descendants of Bulgarian immigrants in the South American country, as its chairman is Pedro Markoff. In fact, the very idea of the gorge was proposed at the time precisely by Pedro Marcoff.

Since every year the different communities in Roque Saenz Peña present themselves with a specific theme, this time our compatriots focused on the Valley of Roses as one of the brightest symbols of Bulgaria.

The Bulgarian platform at the parade was decorated with  roses, and the Bulgarian community was represented by the lovely Luz Maria Tsenoff and little Emma Petcoff – both in stylish outfits decorated with Bulgarian folk motifs, roses and the map of Bulgaria. Along with them, other members of the community, dressed in traditional Bulgarian costumes, paraded.

“Our suits are made of wool. We wear them despite the high temperatures here, which reach up to 55 °C, with a lot of love and respect to promote Bulgarian culture. It is an honor for us to maintain our roots!", noted the Bulgarian cultural society "Hristo Botev" in Roque Saenz Peña for Radio Bulgaria.
