Deputy Prosecutor General Elena Karakasheva heads unit for fairness of elections

Acting Chief Prosecutor Borislav Sarafov, the Minister of the Interior Kalin Stoyanov and the chairman of the State Agency "National Security", Plamen Tonchev, have signed a joint order for actions of the institutions to guarantee the political rights of citizens and to ensure a quick and adequate reaction to counter crimes related to the elections for European Parliament and National Assembly. 

The unit will coordinate the activities of the institutions from the beginning of the election campaign itself and will work for another 30 days after the official announcement of the final results by the Central Election Commission (CEC). The unit will exchange information with the CEC, with the regional interdepartmental units and will analyze and summarize the data received.
