Tourist numbers this summer could improve on pre-Covid levels

Ten percent more tourists are expected to visit Bulgaria this year compared to 2023, confirmed the forecast of the caretaker minister of marketing and business consultant in tourism Konstantin Zankov. The results are expected to reach and even surpass those before the Covid pandemic.


Some 63% of tourists arrive from countries in the European Union. 

"Romania is the strongest market, followed by Poland - from there we have increased flights. Germany is performing better than last year, but is still far from 2019 levels. The UK is also key for our market," Konstantin Zankov told BNR. 

The best period for a seaside holiday in the country will be from 20 July to 15 August, according to the climatologist from St. Simeon Matev. According to him, the likely scenario for the summer is warmer-than-normal weather with less-than-normal rainfall.
