Cases of pertussis (whooping cough) are now few, while the number of scarlet fever and chickenpox cases has been reduced to a reasonable minimum

Prof. Todor Kantardzhiev, former director of the National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, also told the BNR that there were no new cases of measles infection in this country. "For more than 21 days since the last case, we have not registered new cases of measles and we are one of the very few countries in Europe where there is no internal spread of measles," Kantardzhiev pointed out.

Speaking about the cases of West Nile fever, Prof. Kantardzhiev said that there were several new cases, which means Bulgaria has adequate diagnostics.
