Free text books for all Bulgarian schools

The 2024-2025 school year will be the first in decades in which text books will be free for all pupils. 509 text books and general subjects study sets for students from the 1st to the 12th grade have been approved, the Bulgarian news agency BTA reports. In addition, text books and study kits are provided in religion, native language and choreography.

According to Ministry of Education and Science data, a total of 2,331 schools in the country are opening doors today to welcome more than 58,000 first graders. The children from the preparatory groups at school, and the 1-12 grade students number more than 720,000.

There will be over 92,000 teachers and specialists working at schools and kindergartens.
