10 people were detained in an operation against vote buying in Sofia's "Hristo Botev" residential district. Seven pre-trial proceedings have been initiated, said Lyubomir Nikolov, head of the Sofia directorate of the Ministry of Interior. An investigation is underway against a party that submitted false documents for participation in the elections on October 27. The party is not represented in Parliament, Lyubomir Nikolov clarified. One vote is traded for BGN 100-150. Four homes were searched during the operation.

''The same schemes are used to buy votes - through quick loans and writing off money owed in shops'', said Lyubomir Nikolov. Twelve people were also detained for drug distribution. Three weeks before the elections, the number of alerts is the same as in the previous vote, Lyubomir Nikolov added.
