The former finance minister from GERB, Vladislav Goranov, told the Bulgarian National Radio that there are signals indicating that a government could be formed. ''We should make every effort to form a regular cabinet - not only because of the state of the treasury", the politician said. He added that the leader of GERB, Boyko Borissov, is the best option for prime minister, but if another option arises, the cabinet should be led by GERB.

''There is no way a political force can put its leader as prime minister. This will only deepen distrust and exacerbate tensions'', We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria MP Bozhidar Bozhanov said for the Bulgarian National Radio. According to him, the profile of the prime minister should be someone who cannot be told what to do. Bozhidar Bozhanov further said that discussions have not yet been held about whether the composition of a potential future cabinet would be more expert-driven.

The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) also expressed optimistic expectations for the formation of a government. ''I strongly hope that we will come up with a decision that gives a chance for a government. We are tired, but I dare say that the voters are also tired", the Chairman of BSP – Varna, Pavel Ralichkov, said before the party's National Council, which is discussing whether the left-wing party should participate in negotiations.

BSP will meet with the first political force GERB-SDS next week.
