The problems related to electricity cuts in some places in the country did not affect the way tourists welcomed 2025 in the places of accommodation, Rumen Draganov from the Institute for Analyses and Assessments in Tourism has told Euronews Bulgaria.

According to him, hoteliers, guest-house managers and people from the tourism sector are very well prepared for such situations and have power generators and firewood. According to Draganov, it is normal for some settlements to remain without electricity for several days in winter. The mayor of Lovech, Stratsimir Petkov, told media that according to him such a situation is not normal, as 5 days and nights without electricity is a long time.
