TENNIS: Grigor Dimitrov reaches Brisbane semi-finals

Defending his title in Brisbane, Grigor Dimitrov bested Australian Jordan Thompson 6-1, 2-1, with Thompson retiring due to injury. 


It was the Bulgarian's sixth appearance in the semi-finals of the ATP 250 series in the Australian city. Dimitrov's next opponent will be Jiri Lehecka of the Czech Republic, who won in straight sets against Nicolas Jarry of Chile.

Dimitrov is seeded second in Brisbane, with Novak Djokovic the top seed. Dimitrov has won the tournament twice, in 2017 and 2024, and was a finalist in 2013.
