Bulgarian twelfth-grader Alexandra Petkova was among twenty young people from around the world with recognized scientific works who presented their work at the Stockholm International Youth Science Seminar, the Ministry of Education and Science has announced.
The graduate of the National High School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences "Acad. Lyubomir Chakalov" presented her work in the field of physics within 7 minutes in front of an audience of over 1,000 people. Alexandra was invited to the Stockholm International Youth Science Seminar after she won first prize at the European Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS) in September.
Her achievements in physics helped Bulgaria make one of its most successful presentations in the history of the contest, which was held in Katowice, Poland. Then she presented her experimental and theoretical study of the angles of waves left by moving vessels to an international committee. Applying her formula would lead to a reduction in fuel consumption.
