Symphony concert at an altitude of 2,550 m. in Mount Pirin

The Aramis orchestra of the Mannheim international cultural centre in Germany gave a concert on Todorka peak in Mount Pirin. An open-air snow stage was set up at an altitude of 2,550 m. for the purpose, and a grand piano was taken up the mountain, pirinnews.com writes.

The concert was kept secret until the very last moment so as to be a surprise for the tourists in the area. Classical music filled the air across the entire mountain and in Bansko, skiers in the area say. Aramis orchestra comprises young musicians from Germany and Bulgaria performing classical music from around the world. Their cause is, through music, to contribute to the protection of the planet, the organizers of the concert say.

This is not the first concert that has taken place on Mount Pirin, for a good cause. On 26 February, 2021, Vasko Vassilev gave a virtuoso performance of Vivaldi’s “Winter” on the same peak, playing a 1714 Calcagno violin.
