The Bulgarian Ministry of Health has organised medical assistance for those injured in the nightclub fire in northern Macedonia. The tragedy, which occurred overnight in the town of Kočani, claimed the lives of more than 50 people and left more than 100 injured.

A special emergency coordination center, headed by Health Minister Silvi Kirilov, has been set up within the ministry. "The necessary organisation has been put in place to provide full medical assistance to those affected by the fire, if needed," the ministry said.

Discussions have already been held with hospital administrators across Bulgaria to ensure the reception and treatment of seriously and moderately injured people. Air ambulances are also on standby, ready to respond if needed.

The military aircraft 'Spartan' is expected to leave for North Macedonia, reports bTV. Unofficially, it can transport up to five critically injured patients and about ten in more stable condition.

Bulgaria will also send six ambulances with medical teams and oxygen tanks, according to the Sofia Emergency Medical Service press centre.

According to the latest reports, 59 people have died and more than 100 have been injured.
