Tensions in the Bulgarian Olympic Committee continue to grow after three people challenged the election of the new president Vesela Lecheva. According to sports lawyer Georgi Gradev, the entry of the new leadership in the Commercial Register will be suspended today or tomorrow.
In an official position, the Secretary General of the Olympic Committee for the past 20 years, Belcho Goranov, informed that he received an invitation from Vesela Lecheva to remain in office, but would not accept the offer, as he did not want to betray the current president Stefka Kostadinova.
“Mr. Goranov personally asked me to remain in the position of Secretary General of BOC after the delegates of the General Assembly elected me,” Vesela Lecheva commented on the words of the Secretary General, who in the meantime filed an appeal in the Sofia City Court.
Two more appeals have been filed. They are from BOC members Plamen Krastev and Zhivko Vangelov.
