The Bulgarian government will not interfere in the scandal with the Bulgarian European Prosecutor Teodora Georgieva.

Speaking to the Bulgarian National Radio in Gorna Oryahovitsa, Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov expressed hope that whatever decision the European Prosecutor's Office makes regarding the temporarily suspended Bulgarian European Prosecutor in the case of the expansion of the Chiren gas storage facility, it will not tarnish Bulgaria's prestige and stressed that it is not the job of the Bulgarian government to comment on problems in the independent judiciary, be it European.

In his words, despite the attempts of politicians and political forces to capitalize on this, the European Prosecutor's Office has all the capacity and information to give an accurate assessment and make the appropriate decisions.

"I sincerely hope that whatever the decision is, it will not stain the image of the country," Zafirov emphasized
