Snowfall and strong winds in Northeastern Bulgaria caused power outages in more than 100 villages in the regions of Ruse, Silistra, Shumen, Targovishte, Dobrich and Varna.

Hurricane-strong wind knocked down a 50-meter crane near the Fishing Port in Pomorie. The crane fell on boats, some of which were damaged and sank. There are no reports of injuries, the extent of the damage is yet to be determined.

The unusual winter weather in Bulgaria for April is due to a cold front that swept across the country in the past week, but is already moving southeast. Warmer weather and spring-like temperatures are expected in Bulgaria in the coming days.
