The foundation Unity-Kočani has sent an open letter to key Bulgarian institutions, expressing gratitude for the support and humanitarian assistance provided by Bulgaria after the tragedy of the fire at a nightclub in Kočani.
The letter lays emphasis on the contribution by the young medics, Macedonian citizens, who have graduated in Bulgaria. This specific aid comes as corroboration of the strong ties between the two peoples, but also of the need for additional support to the young Macedonians who want to study in Bulgaria.
“This is in the interest of the Macedonian students, but also of Bulgaria which will create more ambassadors of its education and culture,” the letter reads. The foundation’s chairman Stole Velkov calls on Bulgaria’s Ministry of Education to increase the quotas for student admissions from North Macedonia to universities in Bulgaria, priority being given to medicine, stomatology and pharmacy, tribuna.mк reports.
