Bulgaria continues to support Ukraine's efforts to establish a just and lasting peace, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov said at a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky, the government press service reported. The two spoke in Tirana during the sixth summit of the European Political Community.

The ceasefire is one of the prerequisites for peace negotiations, the prime minister said. According to him, setting preconditions can undermine the fragile hope that exists at the beginning of the negotiations.

According to Rosen Zhelyazkov, establishing peace is not just a way to stop the war in Ukraine and restore its territorial integrity, but also a matter related to the security of Europe and the way in which it will build its security architecture and defense capabilities in the new geopolitical environment.

Rosen Zhelyazkov also pointed out the strengthening of Europe's industrial military potential as part of the structural guarantees for both Ukraine and the European continent.
