Household consumers will remain on the regulated electricity market for an unlimited period, said Energy Minister Zhecho Stankov at a briefing at the Council of Ministers. The day and the night rates, which are important to the most vulnerable consumers, will remain in place, Minister Stankov said further, and added that by force of the changes to the law, the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission is now able to begin a procedure for setting the price household consumers will pay for their electricity. The price will be put to public debate so that all Bulgarian citizens and the media will know how it is calculated, Zhecho Stankov explained. The fund guarantees there is enough money for compensations to household consumers, that could reach the sum of 1 billion Leva, Minister Stankov said.
