The Ministry of Health shared a short video showing what the country's first National Paediatric Hospital (NPH) will look like. This hospital is set to open by 2028, as reported by BTA.

The construction will begin in March next year, three months earlier than was thought before. This information was given by Desislava Malinova, the director of the Health Investment Company for Children's Hospital. The hospital will offer treatment in more than 30 specialist areas and will have 26 wards, over 38 diagnostic rooms, 18 operating rooms and 440 beds.

'The Public Council is working hard to find staff so that the hospital can start operating,' said Prof. Ivan Litvinenko, chairman of the Bulgarian Paediatric Association and Chairman of the Public Council for the construction of the National Paediatric Hospital. He added that the number of trainees in specialized pediatric fields has been increased, and efforts are underway to address the shortage of nurses.

The logo for the children's hospital will be designed by 11th-grade students from Sofia's 51st School. The students have submitted 31 proposals, and the final design will be chosen by public vote. "The hospital will have a face created by children, for children," said Desislava Malinova.
