The oldest winter resort in Bulgaria, Borovets, will open its summer season on 28 June, according to the Bulgarian News Agency BTA. The gondola lift will also be in operation from this date, although it will not run on Mondays or Tuesdays

Visitors will be able to enjoy walks and rides in the Borolandia and Borovets bike parks. From Saturday 21 June, guests at the Rila resort will also be able to use the Sitnyakovo Express lift, which will be closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays

A review of the previous winter season indicates increased tourist interest in the popular Rila resort compared to winter 2023/24. Traditionally, most tourists have been British, followed by visitors from Israel, the Balkan countries, and Bulgaria.

Malyovitsa

Back in Rila, the Malyovitsa resort complex offers outdoor entertainment during the summer months. Attractions include a rope park, a summer toboggan run, a bungee trampoline and an inflatable castle. There are also walking tours.

The organisers at Malyovitsa add that an increasing number of tourists are choosing to spend their summers in the mountains, with many bookings already made for July and August. They also reported that the last winter season was the most successful in recent years, undoubtedly due to the large amount of snow that fell during the winter.
