The third vote of no confidence against the cabinet of Rosen Zhelyazkov has also proved unsuccessful. 130 of the MPs present from GERB - SDS, BSP - United Left, ITN and "DPS - New Beginning" voted against the proposal. 54 MPs from MECH, "Vazrazhdane" and "Velichie" voted "for". The MPs from We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria and the Alliance for Rights and Freedoms were not in the hall, BNR "Horizont" reported.

According to the Constitution, for a vote of no confidence to be successful, it must be supported by more than half of all MPs, or a minimum of 121.

The request for the resignation of the cabinet was submitted on the initiative of "Vazrazhdane" with the support of "Velichie" and MECH and motivated by "failure in the fiscal policy of the cabinet". A fourth vote of no confidence is due next week. The request for it was submitted by "Velichie" over government's failure in environmental protection policy.

The first two unsuccessful votes were initiated by "Vazrazhdane" for "failure in the foreign policy sector" and by MECH for "failure in the fight against corruption".
