Orange code for dangerous precipitation issued for 11 Bulgarian districts, yellow code is in place for another 12 districts

On Thursday, the lowest temperatures will range from 14°C to 22°C, for Sofia 14°C.  A cold atmospheric front will pass through the country during the day, bringing short-term showers, thunderstorms and hail in many places. The northwesterly wind will strengthen, bringing cooler air. By around 3 pm, temperatures will range from 24°C –25°C in the far northwestern parts of the country to 37°C –38°C in southeastern Bulgaria, where it will remain mostly dry. Daytime highs in Sofia will reach 29°C.

It will be sunny in the mountains during the morning. Around and after noon, cumulus-rain clouds will form, bringing showers and thunderstorms. There will be a light to moderate southwesterly wind. Strong northwesterly winds are in the forecast for the evening hours. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 meters will be around 25°C, at 2,000 meters around 17°C.

It will be sunny along the Black Sea coast. Clouds will form in the afternoon hours. Brief showers are expected along the northern coastline. Significant rainfall, thunderstorms and hail are expected overnight into Friday along the northern coast. Daytime highs will range between 28°C and 32°C. The seawater temperature is 24°C –27°C. Sea state 1–2 on the Beaufort scale.

Rain and hailstorms are expected in southern Bulgaria on Friday. Heavy and intense rainfall is forecast overnight into Friday in the Central Balkan region and the northeastern areas. The temperatures across the country will drop, with daytime highs between 25°C and 30°C.
