The Constitutional Court has failed to make a decision on the amendments to the Constitution relating to the possibility of the president to choose acting prime minister from a limited list of officials in the state administration. This is indicated by the court's decision on constitutional case No. 38/2024, the website lex.bg reports. The case was initiated at the request of 55 members of parliament from the 51st National Assembly and President Rumen Radev.

For the second time, the Court has failed to make a decision on two of the amendments to the Constitution. The possibility for Bulgarian MPs to have dual citizenship also remains in force. According to 6 judges, these provisions are unconstitutional and must be repealed. In order to have a majority, the opinion had to receive 7 votes. For three constitutional judges, the requests with which the court was approached are inadmissible. All 12 constitutional judges participated in the hearing.
