Weather forecast for 6 August

Temperatures will rise slightly, with local showers in the mountains

On Wednesday, minimum temperatures will range from 16 °C to 21 °C, with 16 °C in Sofia. It will be mostly sunny during the day, but rain and thunderstorms are expected after noon, mainly in northwestern and mountainous areas. Rain clouds will also form over southern Bulgaria, bringing short showers and isolated storms. Heavy rainfall is likely in the Strandzha and Eastern Rhodopes regions. Winds will be moderate from the north-northeast, becoming temporarily strong from the east-northeast in eastern Bulgaria. Maximum temperatures will range from 28° to 33°C, reaching 35°C in the east and around 28°C in Sofia.


It will be mostly sunny along the Black Sea coast, with some cloud cover in the afternoon. Rain clouds will form over the southern coast, bringing brief showers and thunderstorms. Moderate winds will blow from the east-northeast, occasionally strengthening. Maximum air temperatures will range from 27 to 30°C. The sea temperature will be between 26 and 27°C. The sea state will be 2–3 on the Beaufort scale, with a tendency to increase.


It will be sunny in the mountains, though rain clouds, showers, and thunderstorms will develop in some areas during the afternoon, especially in the Strandzha and Eastern Rhodope ranges, where they may be intense and heavy. A moderate north-northeast wind is expected. Maximum temperatures will be around 24 °C at 1,200 m and about 15 °C at 2,000 m.


On Thursday, it will be mostly sunny with occasional cloud cover. Short, isolated showers are possible, mainly in mountainous regions. A light northeasterly wind will blow. Maximum temperatures will range from 27–28 °C in western Bulgaria to 35–36 °C in the southeast.
