Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in connection with the death of Capt. Marin Marinov in Gaza

The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office has started pre-trial proceedings in connection with the death of Captain Marin Marinov, BTA reports, citing the state prosecution.

The proceedings were initiated on May 19 at the request of lawyer Mincho Spasov and are over the murder of a person with international protection (Article 116 of the Penal Code). Spasov announced that the investigation has been assigned to investigator Yasen Todorov. The announcement came during a press conference at which the appeal of Bulgarian public figures, cultural figures and citizens to the institutions for an "adequate position of the Bulgarian state regarding the genocide in Gaza" was presented.
