For the 14th year running, people who appreciate birds, the sea, the wind and nature are getting together to say goodbye to summer at the Kite Festival in Shabla at the end of the week.

The official opening is at 4 PM today when elite kite pilots from the Bulgarian Kite Association will hold a children’s kite workshop. Later, there will be a screening of the film “The hidden beauty of the Northern coast”.

Under the motto “wind-birds-water”, the green educational centre has lined up a diverse programme with family workshops, fun and games and lots of surprises. There will be an aircraft modelling workshop with a raffle, as well as a workshop for kite painting which will show children how to leave their own imprint with the help of sunlight. The Green Balkans are organizing a workshop for the lovers of marine life, while the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds will acquaint children with birdlife.
