Emergency measures have been introduced in the Elenite holiday village due to expected rainfall on Monday. While cleanup continues following the devastating floods on October 2, which claimed the lives of four people, the Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Water-Burgas and the Basin Directorate will assess the environmental situation and the quality of the drinking water. Shelter and care have been provided for all evacuees from the Elenite resort.

''We have given instructions to mayors of municipalities and small settlements to once again inspect their areas, to warn residents living in high-risk zones, which have already been flooded and could be flooded again, to spend the night on the second floor or to stay with relatives or friends in higher locations until Wednesday'', said Burgas Regional Governor Vladimir Krumov.

A yellow and orange weather alert has been issued for October 6 due to significant rainfall. In the afternoon, rainfall will intensify in southern Bulgaria, and overnight into Tuesday, heavy rain is expected in the eastern part of the country.
