Weather forecast for 18 October

Showers are expected across much of Bulgaria over the weekend

On Saturday, minimum temperatures will range from 8 to 13°C, around 9°C in Sofia. It will be mostly cloudy with rain in many areas. There will be temporary breaks in cloud cover over southern regions. Overnight into Sunday, cloudiness will begin to clear rapidly from the northwest. Maximum temperatures will reach 14 to 19°C, 13°C in the capital.


Cloudy skies and rain are expected along the Black Sea coast, with heavier showers in the north. Maximum temperatures will be 16-18°C, with sea water temperatures of 17-19°C. Sea conditions will be moderate, with waves up to 3 on the Beaufort scale.


In the mountains, it will be cloudy with rain, which will turn to snow above 1,800 metres. Winds will be moderate from the northwest and strong from the west on the highest peaks of Rila and Pirin. Maximum temperatures will be around 10°C at 1,200 metres and around 3°C at 2,000 metres.


On Sunday, skies will clear over much of northern Bulgaria by morning, becoming mostly sunny. There will be significant cloud cover over southern and north-eastern areas, with light rain in some places. Winds will ease but will still come from the northwest. Daytime temperatures will fall slightly compared with Saturday.
