Before tomorrow’s European Council meeting, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov stated that Bulgaria was in favour of continuing the process of EU accession negotiations with Turkey:

“The EU-Turkey readmission agreement and the process of accession negotiations are a reliable and sustainable instrument and mechanism for the realization of activities of mutual interest in the long term – for averting humanitarian crises and for the strategic development of relations among countries and their citizens. The efforts to keep what has already been achieved and to make progress even in the conditions of a refugee and migrant crisis and domestic problems in a number of countries of Europe and the neighbouring regions need to be continued,” the Bulgarian Foreign Minister said.
