Desecration of monuments is unacceptable: President Radev

The desecration of monuments is as unacceptable, as the distortion of the Bulgarian history, Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev said in an interview for the Bulgarian National Television. However, I do not beleive that confrontation is mutually beneficial. Moscow should avoid such unbalanced positions, because I believe in the good future of our bilateral relations and I will work for it, despite the heavy legacy in the recent years, Bulgaria’s head of state Radev further said. Earlier on Friday the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also condemned the act of vandalism against the Alyosha Monument in Plovdiv where anti-Semitic statements and Nazi symbols were used.
