The leader of the National Front for the Salvation of Bulgaria Valeri Simeonov was appointed Deputy-President of the Bulgarian National Assembly. 118 MPs voted in favor, 6 MPs voted against and 6 MPs abstained. The parliamentary group of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms left the plenary hall and did not take part in the voting. MP Pavel Shopov from Ataka party commented that with this appointment GERB was indulging NFSB and VMRO parties and reminded the protests against Simeonov last year which led to his resignation as Deputy Premier.
