The number of COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria is now up to 163, of whom 3 have died and 3 have recovered. In Sofia the number of coronavirus cases is 103, General Ventsislav Mutafchiiski, head of the national crisis staff has announced. The average age of the patients who have died is 75 but there are 8 people in Bulgaria now, aged 20 and 50, who are displaying severe symptoms, General Mutafchiiski added. He stated he cannot predict when the peak of the infection will be reached.

Interior Minister Mladen Marinov announced that around 7,000 people have been quarantined nationwide. Several dozen pre-trial proceedings have been instituted against individuals who have broken the isolation they are subject to.

Interior Ministry Secretary General Ivaylo Ivanov stated that there are a great many people moving around outdoors who are not complying with the prevention measures. He stressed that unless the current measures ordered are observed the restrictions will be tightened.

As of today, warnings that the measures against the spread of coronavirus must be complied with will be broadcast by drone over the Sofia residential area Fakulteta, which has a predominantly Roma population. It will also be used to monitor any gathering of people.
