The European Commission has informed the Bulgarian government that the payments to businesses, amounting to 110 Leva per MWh (56 euro), do not constitute state aid and Bulgaria can apply this measure to protect non-household consumers against high electric energy prices, the Ministry of Energy has announced.

The ministry goes on to explain that the Commission’s answer allows for the practical launch of payments. The assistance will be received by way of deductions of the corresponding sum from the bill of every client.
