Daily Covid-19 cases drop to 8,142

8,142 is the number of newly registered Covid-19 cases, down from 9,152 a day earlier. 22% of the 37,006 tests performed in the country in the past day have returned positive, 4% down on data from the previous day. 75.6% of the new infections are among the unvaccinated, Single Coronavirus Information Portal data show.  

The coronavirus incidence rate on a weekly basis is 823 per 100,000 residents, and 1,728 per 100,000 on a 14-day basis.

257,488 is the number of active cases in the country, up by 2,066 compared to the previous day.

6,124 patients are being treated in hospital, up by 200 on the previous day. 568 are being treated in intensive care units. Out of the 863 new hospital admissions 85.4% are among the unvaccinated.

96 Covid-related deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours, 85 of the deaths are among the unvaccinated.

5,980 is the number of recoveries reportedin the past day.

10,084 doses of vaccine have been administered in the past day. 2,006,975 people in the country have now completed their vaccination cycle.
