The government is to submit to the National Assembly a bill on collection companies, in order to prevent pressure on debtors. "Before starting to collect debts, the company will have to notify the debtor and invite them to voluntarily pay the money, as a possibility for contesting is envisaged," Deputy Prime Minister Korneliya Ninova said. In addition, it is forbidden for the collectors to ask for a larger amount than the obligation, to call at homes of debtors from 8 pm to 7 am, to place information about the debtors in public places. The bill provides for hefty fines in case of violations.
