European Investment Bank President Werner Hoyer pays visit to Bulgaria

President Rumen Radev and the President of the European Investment Bank, EIB, Werner Hoyer held a meeting, at which they discussed ways of increasing investments in innovation and high-tech.

Rumen Radev laid emphasis on the potential Bulgaria has in the sphere of innovation with the experts it has, and pointed out that in these spheres this country can play an active and essential role in the region. Werner Hoyer also held a meeting with Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov, at which the two discussed the green transition and the European Investment Bank’s support for Bulgaria in this sphere.

In 2021, the EIB group provided loans, guarantees and assumed commitments for share participation in projects in Bulgaria worth EUR 948 million.
