The situation with Bulgaria's Schengen membership undermines the confidence of Bulgarians in the EU, the Movements for Rights and Freedoms MEP Ilhan Kyuchyuk told public broadcaster BNT.

"Bulgaria is in a permanent political crisis and this does not help. We talk about how we will fight inflation, the economic crisis, but the mother of all crises is the political crisis. If we don't solve it and come united as we did when we joined the EU, Bulgaria will not achieve any of its priorities," Kyuchyuk said.

After the GERB-UDF was handed the first mandate, the MRF is ready to negotiate with the largest parliamentary force, the MEP said.
