On Monday, 9 January, President Rumen Radev will receive premier-designate Nikolai Denkov, nominated by the second biggest parliamentary group in the 48th National Assembly, that of We Continue the Change, whom, by force of the constitutional procedure, he handed the second exploratory mandate for the formation of a government within the current parliament.

We Continue the Change have already stated they are going to hand back the mandate unfulfilled, as their declaration of governance failed to obtain the support of parliament. The President hands the third and last mandate for the formation of a cabinet to a parliamentary force of his choice.
