Ukraine has called for an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council over Russia's announcement that it would station tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, UNIAN reports.

The European Union’s foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said that Brussels was ready to impose new sanctions on Belarus if Minsk were to host Russian nuclear weapons, AFP reported. “Belarus hosting Russian nuclear weapons would mean an irresponsible escalation and threat to European security. Belarus can still stop it, it is their choice”, Josep Borrell wrote on Twitter.

North Macedonia is to transfer 12 Mi-24 combat helicopters to Ukraine, the country’s Defence Minister Slavyanka Petrovska said. Skopje purchased the helicopters from Kyiv in 2001, MIA reported. North Macedonia has already sent four Su-25 aircraft and its old T-72 tanks to Kyiv.
