With changes in the regulation of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, for the first time, the awarding of young athletes from the first age group before men and women is introduced. Thus, they will be able to receive one-time cash prizes for prize ranking at world and European championships in Olympic disciplines and categories, the ministry reports. At the moment, no such financial incentives were foreseen.

The purpose of the regulatory change is to encourage young Bulgarian hopefuls to continue actively competing.

BGN 20,000 /€10,225/ for the first place in the world championship and BGN 10,000 /€5,112/ for the European championship are planned.
