“Covid-19 is at the moment very widespread,” Prof. Iva Hristova, director of National Centre of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases said in an interview with Novanews. “Many people do not get tested. The incidence rate is on the rise in Europe as well,” she added. “The incidence rate will go up. For Sofia and Gabrovo, it is now over 60 per 100,000, and for the whole country – 35 per 100,000,” Prof. Hristova said and added that with most people Covid-19 is not severe nor does it entail complications, with the symptoms being pain and a sore throat. But she did recommend that people get tested. “If we have Covid-19 we need to stay home for at least a week, even if we feel better on the next day. The body needs more time to recuperate. If we go back to our usual routine at the first sign of improvement we risk taking a turn for the worse,” she says.
