Weather forecast for 23 January

Foggy morning, sunny midday and warm afternoon

On Thursday morning there will be fog and reduced visibility with low clouds in the lowlands, valleys and along the Danube. Around midday, visibility will improve, clouds will break and the weather will be mostly sunny. Minimum temperatures will be between minus 4 and 1°C, around minus 3°C in Sofia. Highs will be between 7 and 12 degrees Celsius, around 7 degrees in the capital.

In the mountains the sun will shine most of the day. There will be occasional clouds over the western ranges, where light snow may fall in the highest parts. The maximum temperature will be 7°C at 1,200 m and around minus 1°C at 2,000 m.

Along the Black Sea coast, there will be broken clouds and sunshine. Maximum temperatures will be 9-11°C. The sea temperature will be 7-9°C. 

On Friday, the wind will come from the northwest and temporarily increase. Clouds will increase and rain will fall in some places, especially in the Danube plain and over eastern Bulgaria. Temperatures will rise by 2-3 degrees.
