Weather forecast for Bulgaria for 20 February 2025

Frosty weather, subzero temperatures expected in almost all regions of Bulgaria on Thursday

On Thursday, the minimum temperatures in Bulgaria will be between minus 14 °C and minus 8°C. In Sofia, it will be around minus 12°C. The day will be sunny but frosty. The thermometer values ​​in most places will be negative. Before noon, there will be low layered clouds over the Danube Plain and the temperatures there will remain lower.


The maximum temperatures ​​will be from minus 5°C to 0°C, in the capital Sofia - around minus 3°C.

In the mountains it will be mostly sunny, windy and cold. There will be a moderate, in the higher parts - up to a strong wind from the north. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 m will be minus 9°C, at 2000 m - around minus 13°C.

Cold sun will shine along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. The maximum temperatures will be between minus 1°C and 2°C. The sea water temperatures is at 5-6°C.

It will be cold on Friday. Morning temperatures will drop significantly and in most of the country lows will be between minus 16°C and minus 11°C, along the Black Sea coast, in places in the Upper Thracian Lowland and the extreme southwestern regions - between minus 8°C and minus 4°C. The maximums will be between minus 6°C and minus 1°C, in the extreme southwestern regions - up to about 4°C.

In the Balkans over the northwestern part of the peninsula it will be mostly sunny, in places with morning fog. Over the southeastern part the cloudiness will be more often significant, but significant precipitation is not expected. It will remain cold.

In Athens it will be 9°C, in Bucharest minus 3°C, in Belgrade 4°C are expected. In Istanbul it will be 3°C.
